Welcome to Virginia High Power Rocketry!

Like many of my rocketry friends, I first got into rockets as a kid, flying Estes stuff on land owned by St. Raymond's cemetery (at the time, not yet put into service of course) in the Bronx. It was a pretty good field! As with most young rocketeers, there followed  girls, cars and whatever.....you know the story, rockets got put out of sight and mind.

Some years ago, while shopping for a model rocket starter set for a friend's young son, I saw a copy of High Power Rocketry on the magazine rack. Holy cow! There was a company called Public Missiles?? Look at the size of these things! I was astounded at how far the hobby had come and was pulled back in right then and there. Another Born Again Rocketeer!

In early 2000, I did a  "How To" classroom series on Rocketry Online on building a high power 2 stage rocket and this website was created to document that project. I've been actively building and flying since, adding articles, movies and photos as I go. Hopefully you'll find something  useful or interesting here. Be sure to check out Updates for new stuff.
